One of my favorite moments during my recent Tucson/GemShow trip was finding these tourmalines. In a sea of bright gemstones, my eyes went straight to the little trays of cabochon tourmalines, and I found myself completely captivated. I stayed and stared at those gems for so long I think the seller might have suspected I was plotting to steal them! Little did he know just how deep I was in a trance — pairing stones together, switching them out, laying one design next to another while getting distracted by a new combination. I was in what psychologists call the “flow state,” my happy place, painting a piece of jewelry in my mind. I brought three designs home with me that day; this is one of them. I’m so thrilled to share with you this finished piece I call “I Dream of Tourmaline.”

The pendant is set in sterling silver and strung on an 18" chain. The stones are all natural tourmaline, with natural zircon added for extra razzle dazzle.
