Hollandite Quartz, also known as Urchin Quartz and Star Quartz, is a variety of Quartz with a manganese oxide inclusion within the quartz that crystallizes in a starburst formation. This occurs during the creation of the Quartz as small inclusions of Hollandite get caught in the Quartz. Through a natural heating process, the inclusion of Hollandite eventually burst into its star formation. The color is usually dark black and can resemble a spider.

This Mama pendant is the middle size in a family of pendants I have made. It measures just over 1.25” tall from bottom to top of bail. This collection features a heavy gauge silver frame and prongs. They are finished with a matte silver and come on an 18” sterling chain with lobster claw clasp.
